My Christmas EDC Gear

It’s the holiday season so I figured it was great timing to swap out my EDC bag and do a write-up on my Christmas kit. My new bag is called the Nash which is produced by a company named Fixsolve.

Designed for the urban nomad, this pack screams high quality from the Duraflex buckles, YKK sealed zippers, to the 1500D Cordura construction.

At first glance, this bag draws zero special attention, something I love in an EDC pack. I live and work in a large urban area so toting a military style bag with my professional dress code is not exactly a vibe I prefer. Even though it’s not overtly tactical, you will notice two rows of webbing located near the bottom of the pack. This can easily be used to add more pouch(s) depending on your preference.

There are two compression straps on each side with slip pockets for a water bottle or similar sized item. Each strap has velcro retention to keep unused material rolled up and organized.

The top grab handle is heavily stitched with an Elastomer coated handle from JTTI which provides a comfortable and secure grip.

A primary outer compartment behind the MOLLE webbing provides lots of space for storage. A flap stretches the length of the compartment to conceal the zipper from curious eyes.

I found this space to be perfect for storing pepper spray, a small multi-tool, and my folding Steiner binoculars.

Located on the side of the pack is a long storm proof zipper which provides access to a roomy laptop and tablet compartment. I’ve been able to easily fit my 15.6 laptop and a small tablet in this space. The remaining space can be used for document folders or related items.

Inside this primary compartment, there is an extensive tool organizer with a contrasting color, making identification of tools super easy. Storage of vital and sensitive items in this main compartment enhances security for your important gear such as wallet, keys, passport, and other high-value items.

I’ve managed to completely fill this 19L space with camera gear, tripods, electronics organizer, poncho and more. Even fully packed, this bag is comfortable to carry for extended durations.

Christmas EDC GearA notable mention is the storm proof zipper on the lid which is perfect for storing headphones, sunglasses or similar sized items. An added bonus is the easy one-handed operation.
